Curt's Kitchen (and other stuff!)

The Moczarski's

Life has been a complete blur lately ... so much going on over the last several months ...

Planes, Trains and Automobiles ...

Well we really haven't had anything with planes and trains, but automobiles is another story. Anna turned 17 last Friday and now has a full fledged drivers license (People's Republic of NY restricts drivers under 17, but that's a different blog). Anna has a 2014 Chevy Cruise that she is very proud of. She is a good driver and although it is a mixed blessing, it is very nice to have half the running around done by someone else now! Although at 2:30 in the morning and she's still not home from the cast party, that is a different blog as well ...

Pizza!

So what's better than homemade Pizza? .... well nothing if you ask my kids 😃

My brother-in-law Eric set us up with several bags of goodies including pepperoni, sausage and cheese. So it was off to Wegmans for a couple of Boboli shells and the make your own pizza night began in earnest.

My son's creation ... Pepperoni, sausage, bacon and banana peppers ...Yum!

My daughter went the more traditional route with just pepperoni and cheese ... also very Yum!

I went on to create a BBQ and pepperoni pie ... something that used to be a nice treat while in college. It brought back memories and was also very good.

What will we come up with next? Can't wait to find out.

A weekend with friends

It started Friday night when I was invited over to the Brake's for dinner. Dan's brother was in town and was cooking. Dennis is an accomplished chef and dinner turned out to be a seafood pasta that was out of this world! I mean it was a work of art - just look at the photo

Following this incredible meal, we sat outside around the fire to solve world problems. A perfect ending to a long week.

Saturday, the fun continued as we piled into the car to go to the Bills vs Steelers preseason football game. First stop ... The parking lot for a tailgate party. Jenn made a fantastic buffalo chicken dip and brought sliced cheese and meats. We brought chili and brats. Accompanied with some adult beverages and we were primed for the game.

Good thing as it seems the Steelers forgot to bring their defense. We lost 19-43 ... Wow, good thing it is only pre-season!

We had a lot of fun and the Bills fans were pretty cool about it (for the most part).

Mole Pork Chops with Brussel Sprouts

Bone in pork chops with Mole spice from VonBrake and grilled to perfection, paired with a new recipe I found for brussel sprouts, apple sauce and homemade pickles (cucumbers from the garden). This was shared with a good friend and followed up with a cigar by the pool.

Good food - good friend - and a good smoke ... a pretty close to perfect night!

Good and Bad of Today

Today is a mixed bag of emotions for the Moczarski family. May 31st is my brother's birthday. We all still miss him terribly- my parents most of all. So we still think of all our good memories and continue to miss him.

On the other hand - Alex is having his piano recital today. For the first time he is really playing a challenging piece- Rainbow Prelude. He says he isn't nervous, but I sure am for him. It is a beautiful piece and I'll be taping it for sure! Here's a shot of him practicing before the recital.

Yesterday - Alex was invited to the Mendon Carnival by three girls. He acted like it was no big deal, but he certainly had fun!

Proud Parents!

Anna was confirmed this morning in church. We are very proud of her!

Open for business!

The pool is open and sitting between 85-87 degrees ... Come on over and let's go swimming and enjoy some adult beverages while we're at it! 😎

Team Sports Day

Alex is all decked out in Steelers garb for Team Sports Day at JP Middle School today. Looking good Alex!

Thanksgiving Day!

Food, family and friends ... What an awesome holiday.

Fish Fry

Tonight we pulled out the last of the frozen perch from Uncle Tom and had ourselves a huge fish fry! Thank you Uncle Tom!
